All faculty, students and staff are invited to join SAVE, Student Advocates for a Vegetarian Ethic--a student organization at Cleveland State University.

You do not have to be a vegetarian to join SAVE.

Dr. Barbara Benander is the Faculty Advisor for this group. (*) The goals of SAVE include the following:

• To educate ourselves and others concerning the health benefits of a non-meat diet

• To learn about alternative, healthy and delicious meals

• To study the philosophies of historical figures who have advocated abstinence from meat

• To promote compassion and responsible stewardship of all creatures

• To assist in reducing the horrible suffering of factory farm animals

• To make new friendships

Last year SAVE hosted a fabulous, amazing Thanksgiving vegetarian feast at CSU. Everyone was invited, and there was a huge, enthusiastic turnout for this catered event. The array of vegetarian food was bounteous and delicious. Rave compliments were received from carnivores and vegetarians alike! There was a DJ, live music, raffles, free gifts, and more! Look for a repeat in 2011!

Also, we have several exciting events planned for this Spring semester--including movies, a veg cooking demo, and a Spring Veg Feast! Be sure to check back.
